Blackeye Pea Hummus

Serves 3-4
  • 1 Can of Goode Foods Blackeye Peas  
  • 1-2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 1/2 teaspoon of berbere or smoked paprika 
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4-7 ice cubes 
  • 1 tablespoon Black Sesame seeds 
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds 
  • Olive oil, toasted sesame seeds, toasted poppy seeds, chopped dill leaves for topping


Step 1.

Add the Goode Blackeye peas to a food processor along with garlic, tahini, berbere, lemon juice, salt, and 4-7 ice cubes( as required) and continue pulsing for 3-4 minutes until you get a smooth, creamy texture and the ice is completely worked in. (The ice cubes will help to make the hummus creamier.)

Step 2.

Adjust for salt as needed , add black sesame, poppy seeds and mix everything together.

Step 3.

Remove it in the serving plate and Top with olive oil, toasted sesame and poppy seeds, and dill leaves for topping. You can also add pine nuts for extra crunch Enjoy with Beagle or pita or toast.
