Red Bean Burger

Ingredients

  • 1 can Red kidney bean @goodefoodsfamily drained, rinsed, and patted dry
  • 1 Tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped bell pepper (1/2 of a pepper)
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion 
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 cup chickpea flour
  • 1 large eggs
  • 1 cup bread crumbs and 1/2 cup for coating
  • pinch salt + pepper
  • For green beans:
  • 1 can Green bean @goodefoodsfamily , drained, rinsed, and patted dry
  • Little Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder

instructions

Add chopped pepper, onion, and garlic in a food processor with the remaining ingredients (cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, chickpea flour , eggs, salt, and pepper). pulse everything together, then add the kidney beans . pulse the mixture, leaving some larger chunks of beans, add 1 cup bread crumbs and mix everything together.

Form into patties– about 1/3 cup of mixture in each. Coat it nicely with bread crumbs. Place it in the freezer for 1 hour.

Add enough oil in a pan for frying , Place patties in hot oil and fry them for 8 minutes on each side on medium heat.

Serve with your favorite toppings. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

For side I’m using green beans from @goodefoodsfamily , add salt, black pepper, garlic powder and sauté till it gets little crunchy and serve hot.
